@_elena I had the same emotion when I formally deleted my Apple account. I had it for nearly two decades.

@_elena I'm going to verify it with generated photo because I sure as hell am not sending them my real ID, especially given they had a breach losing user private data just months ago. But I only really have Discord because some treat it as their webpage or main message board.

@_elena I intend to delete my account when the age verification goes live as a way of sending a message to them. I always found Discord too complex. For example, I’d get a push notification when someone made a post, so I’d tap on the notification thinking it would take me to the post but instead it just took me to the server and forced me to hunt for the post. I’ve turned off all notifications. I can’t remember when I last checked any servers I’m a member of.

@_elena Hooray! I like it when big tech says they'll delete my accounts. It saves me the trouble of going through their dark patterns of trying to cancel it on my own. (That said, telling big tech to stuff it is most satisfying when it works. :))
